2015 Summer Update

Dear Koinonia Families:

It is with a certain sadness that I let everyone know that the final report cards were sent
today.  It signals the end of the school year.  The Good Lord has showered all of us with
so many blessings and we are eternally grateful for the efforts of many: students, parents, staff and benefactors to name just a few.  There are countless efforts by the KPAC, lunch parents, pizza parents, Gala families, sports coaches, Mrs. Floyd and Mrs. Masterson, Mr. Soule, Mr. Malarkey,
surely the list goes on forever.  But to all of you who made this year important, memorable,
blessed and noteworthy, THANK YOU!!
As we face summer and its wonderful unstructured element, I pray that we all stay focused on
the important elements of life. God is first and foremost in all we do. I said to the children, it is the summer of the 3 P’s!
Prayer, Positive and Proud.
I encouraged the children to pray each day. I asked them to be positive in their thoughts and how they approach each other and life. Finally, to make themselves proud. Look around, see what needs to be done, offer to help make family life and the world better. Be aware of the world around you. Get off the couch and carry in the groceries, take a walk with the dog or a grandparent. Offer to help, don’t wait to be asked.  Encourage your children to take responsibility this summer for a chore or duty at home. While you ride in the car, ask the children simple math problems or spell words. It is good for them!
I want to remind all the families there is summer reading for every grade. It is now posted on the KA website under Summer Resources.  In addition, here is the 2015-2016 KA School Schedule
In closing, the school office will be closed from Mon. June 29th through Fri. July 3rd for the Independence Day holiday.  Summer hours are 8 AM until 1 PM. Mon. through Thurs.  You can make an appointment for any other time by calling the office. Please be sure all your registration information is completed and returned to the office as soon as possible.
May God Bless us all and the world around us.  May the spirit of peace and friendship
flourish in each one of us and the light of God shine in us.
Peace and blessings,
Lelia Pappas
